9.99 € CONCEPTS is a series of publications on post-conceptualism in architecture and design. Thereby, "post-" does not only refer to the period after (neo) conceptualism in art, but also to the absolute necessity of conceptual approaches for contemporary cultural practice. The first issue is made by m-a-u-s-e-r and consists of three parts, which all come with screen-printed covers. Released irregularly, the "9.99 € CONCEPTS 1" is a limited edition of 55 copies available. Each copy is consecutively numbered by the authors.
1A) DRAW BY NUMBERS FEATURING A LOST COSMOLOGY
The historic attempt to rescue design as cosmological speculation turns out be but footnotes to the MSCI World stock market index, recorded monthly from January 2001 to June 2010.
1B) THE HAPPY END OF ICONIC ARCHITECTURE
The formidable Neuschwanstein Castle recognizes its biggest rival within primitive-hut-icons of the WWW, provoking the question: Do home buttons have to be designed by architects?
1C) IMAGES SHOT BY WORDS BUT NOT DEAD
The obscure encyclopedia of the digital image shows that a digital picture is worth a thousand analogue words. And there are thousand analogue words for the digital image.
