igmade.edition publishes books, catalogues, gadgets,.. It is not about scientific works, conference proceedings, or glossy publications. Rather it is about risky books, which break fresh ground in concern of content and form, which work on architecture, art, and culture beyond the borders of academic tradition and of journalistic conventions.
In times, in which all houses are already built, and old buildings seem to be more important than new ones, micro-architecture becomes the main subject. In terms of structure, it is about the architecture of the poem, of music and painting, of film, of theater, and of dance; as well as of architectures of theory, information, systems, plants, and machines. In terms of phenomena, it is all about staging: the staging of habitation, of stores, of scenery, exhibitions, of fashion and shop windows.
Ensuring continuity, annual Junk Jet magazine connects to the architectural and artistic discourse of the Anglo-American world. Besides, there are publications, which – either in English or German – dwell on the border of aesthetic theory and practice, or, which completely move into the field of arts. All products share a sense of form that combines uncompromising radicality and cool reduction.
